Sarah Salas, RDN, LD
Throughout my late teens, I was dealing with severe acne, hormonal imbalances, and weight struggles that made me feel self-conscious and drained my confidence.
I remember sitting in my doctor's office, hoping for answers, only to be handed birth control, antibiotics and Accutane as solutions. Considering the appointment was only about fifteen minutes long, and none of my concerns were answered, something in me knew this wasn't the real answer. I remember feeling a sense of hopelessness because I wanted to understand why my body was struggling.
So I began searching for natural solutions. I read many books on natural healing, sought guidance from a naturopathic doctor, and decided to try a holistic approach. It wasn't easy — for over a year, I experimented with nearly every diet, eliminated certain foods, and tried countless supplements. Slowly, my body began to heal. My skin cleared, PMS symptoms eased, and my digestion felt stronger and healthier than ever. Experiencing this transformation firsthand was life-changing — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally. I realized that true health comes from understanding and nourishing the whole person, not just managing symptoms.
Through this experience, I decided to change my career path from social work to becoming a Registered Dietitian. I earned my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Texas State University and completed a dietetic internship with Be Well Solutions, gaining experience in various dietetic settings. Shortly after, I became a licensed dietitian in Texas. To deepen my ability to guide clients toward lasting health, I pursued advanced training with the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.
Today, with a blend of my own experiences, evidence-based strategies and compassion, I help individuals uncover the why behind their health challenges and create sustainable, life-changing results.
